COX - COME HERE ALIVE [EP] (2014) RUSSIA

"Moscow, 11 p.m. The smoke fills the air preparing the stage for COX. the rusky modern\alternative metal band Cox opens the show firing their sound to the crowd with some goth raindrops in their bullet «Wind Goes In Circles»". Well, at least i visualised it while i was listening to it, and if it made me daydream, this is for sure good stuff.
This first EP from these young russians is a great surprise for me. Not that i haven't in account the rock scene in russia, but, although unknown to me i didn't had in my mind any idea of this americanized sound being so well played in russia. One thing is for sure, these young boys know a lot about of what they're doing. Amazing musicianship and very good composers. they play with great profissionalism like if they have been doing it for ages. The compositions are first rate. My info about them, tells me that they know their way around a studio and live stages; and all of that is reflected in the excelent job they've done behind the controls.
For a calling card, this EP is perfect, but with this kind of ability to compose music, they can perfectly build an entire album and i bet there will be someone to eager enough to sign with them a good contract. I'm pretty sure that we will hear from them a lot more in the near future.
The only remark i have to them, is the name, it sounds like a punk hardcore band. I'm sure it means something, but to make it world wide it must change, it has a lot of unwanted conotations to something else, and it's definitely not their music.
I Could say, "from russia with love", but it's more like, "from russia with boldness"!
